The Humor Of Politics And Other Absurdities – My name is Kelly Mahan Jaramillo. This chatter is part memoir, part musings, and observations. Overall, it is just mentally chasing the ping-pong balls flying in my head and trying to grab them before I get pummeled to death. I think.
There is a very real concern among the Democratic voters and the many Republicans who have chosen to vote for Barack Obama. These concerns run especially high in states like Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Florida, and Pennsylvania.
It concerns the voting machines, and their tendency to “malfunction” – when the voter presses the button for his or her candidate, the choice flips and lands on another candidate. Watch the video below to see how it happens.
The advice in the video, (albeit given rather reluctantly, as the poor man who ‘re-calibrates’ the machines when they malfunction, keeps having to re-calibrate the same machine over and over – you really start to feel bad for the guy) is for you to remain in your spot and make absolutely certain that whomever you picked stays your choice on the machine.
I have been to my first political Rally – Stood in line along with 16,000 other people, the air crackling with excitement – traffic at a standstill, horns honking in support, running around a civic center arena I had never been in before, sitting in the nosebleed section, and got to watch Barack Obama speak.
Wow. I heard him speak, in detail, about his tax plan, his healthcare plan, his plan to bolster the economy, and his honesty concerning the fact that these changes would take time and hard work, there was not going to be an overnight miracle – there was a lot of hard work to be done, and from what I heard laid out in front of me, he was ready to shoulder this enormous workload, with our help, to get us all back on our feet again.
Without naming names, I heard him rebut Sarah Palin’s divisive screeching about how much she liked going to the parts of the country where the “Real America/Pro-America people lived”.
Barack made it very clear that we were all Americans, all fifty states, all cities, all small towns.
When Obama spoke of McCain, he spoke of the few good decisions McCain made back in 2000, and complimented him on them, then simply stated the facts that McCain had not been a “Maverick” in years, choosing instead to align himself with George W. Bush. The crowed boo’d. Obama held up his hand and said firmly, “
“Don’t Boo – Vote!”
And the crowd stopped Boo-ing. Barack Obama actively discourages his crowd from boo-ing his opponent.
This is a stark contrast to McCain’s rallies in the middle of the state, where the main thrust of his speeches are not solutions to problems, but bash, bash, and more bashing of Obama. And his people respond, boo-ing Obama, and McCain and Palin encourage it.
Guess What, John? You don’t like Barack! We get it! Now, what are you going to do to solve the problems of the country? And I believe we, the American People. would like to hear it from YOUR mouth, not Sarah Palin’s or Joe the Plumber’s.
One more week to go. I hope it does not get any more ugly. I really wish the petty bullshit would stop. I wish John McCain would send the monster he unleashed back to her home state, and I wish there were less people being whipped into a frenzy of ugliness ranging from stealing Obama signs off of other’s yards, to screaming ‘terrorist!’ and “Kill Him” at McCain/Palin rallies, to more thoughtful people who are seeing what both sides of the campaign are doing, and hearing the words that are being said. People in the video below, who are listening and are realizing that Barack Obama and Joe Biden can take this broken country and turn it around, making us better and stronger than we have ever been.
For some unknown reason, I have always had it in my mind that my husband Abel Jaramillo died on Oct.24th, 1995. His Death Certificate says Oct.22, 1995.
We were married on Dec 22, 1993. Maybe his Death Certificate made a mistake, it’s more likely that my mind made a mistake, maybe I was not able to handle being married and having him pronounced dead fall on the same day.
The first five years were the hardest – I viewed the coming of October with dread, and had to muscle my way through the holidays with whatever means possible.
I would not say it began to get easier, I think I began to accept it and incorporate it into my life. Stop putting on the emotional brakes the minute October hit, and just do and feel however I damned well wanted to. Some years ended extremely rocky, with hangovers that were off of the charts, some were smooth – quiet and melancholy, somewhat surreal in the sense of being under forty and having been widowed for seven years.
This year I am in an entirely new environment, I am in a long term relationship that started out a friendship one year and two months after Abel – called Beau by those of us who loved him – died.
I am in a place where Autumn is real, it is all around me, the trees changing from day to day, the weather getting colder, the outside wildlife preparing for winter.
In Los Angeles, October is hot, the weather is dry, the winds are from the East, they are called the Santa Ana’s, and they hold the promise of fire, violence, physical discomfort and mental instability.
Out here on the East Coast, the 4 seasons are distinctly different, and in this first real Fall, I am reminded of Beau not in the sharp snapshots of his death and the weeks in the hospital watching him die, but in how nature works, how much we are a part of nature, and how hard it is for us to pare life down to such basics.
We are all so busy fighting for our space on this earth, making sure we make it through another winter, breathlessly awaiting another spring, complaining about another unbearably hot summer, and having alternate feelings of relief and sadness as summer slips into fall, the trees dropping their glorious leaves, telling us to prepare to bundle up and make our way around their dormant skeletons for the next five months.
This is my first real Autumn, and I think standing in the middle of it’s unspeakable beauty and hourly changing might possibly be releasing the last vestiges of grief for Beau, and finally, after 13 years, his place in my heart holds no pain. It feels full, quiet and peaceful.
I am hoping that the next fall will do the same for my father, and for Lali.
But this fall of 2008 belongs to Beau.
I will see you in the next life, thank you for everything you taught me – I have been stubborn, and slow to graduate from life 101, but I think, this fall, that I am ready to absorb much more deeply words you said and how you lived.
I do not miss you this year – how can I miss someone who has become a part of me? You are right here, in the very air I breathe.
Anyone who follows this blog knows that I am a moderate Democrat, and have no problem expressing my irritation at Congress, especially Nancy Pelosi, on many issues.
But there is an issue I need to address concerning some of the comments people who do not like the McCain/Palin ticket are saying.
If you do not like McCain and/or Palin, well, they are adults, and they took the job with full knowledge that they were going to be blasted, just as Obama and Biden know it. No matter how hard everyone tries to start out civil, it always turns into a political cesspool.
But to attack Sarah Palin’s Down Syndrome 6-month old baby is just about as low as a person can go. Calling the baby names. CALLING A DOWN’S SYNDROME INFANT NAMES!! What in God’s name is the matter with you people? The baby is not running for office, the baby should not even be at the rallies, the poor baby should be at home.
There is a rumor going around that at first I completely dismissed, that Trig, the baby, was not Sarah’s, he was actually Bristol’s. I then dug around and there are some facts that can support that claim.
Okay, so now I think that it just might be possible that Trig is Bristol’s child, and Sarah is passing him off as hers. It is weird and dysfunctional, but once again, if this is true, it is not the baby’s idea!
I just have to let off some steam here, because I grouse about the moronic, knuckle-headed, nasty comments that so many of the hard-core right wingers leave on blogs, but in all fairness, some of the low-down moronic, mean-spirited, hateful crap I have read from the idiots on the left when they decide to call the baby names, well, I just want to vomit.
Remember when the Republicans went after Amy Carter and Chelsea Clinton? It was unbelievable – even Howard Stern - he of the ‘no-sacred-cows’ celebrity, finally invoked on his radio show to “Leave Chelsea Alone”. It was the first time I agreed with Howard Stern – the Republicans calling a twelve year old girl names was repulsive. Chelsea, luckily, had parents who could help her deal with it.
Trig is only 6 months old, and does not know what the jackasses in my political party are calling him. But when I read these things and want to cry, I can only imagine how Trig’s 7- year old sister Piper must feel about it. It is hard to explain things to a 7 year old – they are old enough to understand what is being said, but not old enough to understand why.
Actually, at 46 years old, I do not seem to be old enough to understand why, either. Would somebody please comment on this blog and give me a good solid reason as to why you are being vicious towards an infant with Down Syndrome?
Do not get me wrong – I DO NOT like Sarah Palin, I do not like her message, I do not want any part of her or her beliefs, I despise her incendiary lies on the campaign trail, and I would not miss her if she dropped off the face of the earth today. But I have no desire to take my intense dislike of her and re-direct it towards a six-month-old Down’s Syndrome baby. And I do not understand those of you who are doing it. I cannot tell the difference between those of you who are saying these things from Ann Coulter, the Republican Reigning Queen of Vituperative Spew. That’s bad, people. Really bad.
Maybe I can daydream that you are actually hard core right wingers posing as Democrats to make us look like knuckle dragging assholes.
But I am afraid reality won’t quite let me drift off like that, so, as an Obama/Biden supporter, I would like to extend my apologies to the Palin family for the insensitive stupid idiots on the Democratic blogs who say shitty things about your child.
And to the bloggers doing it? Stop it. You have hit a new low, and you are an embarrassment to the Democratic party, and to decent human beings, period.
If all you have to contribute to the campaign is to bash the special-needs infant of the opposing party, do the rest of us a favor, get your fingers off the keyboard, and just go vote, okay?
As you all know, Thursday night, at the 63rd Annual Alfred E. Smith Memorial Dinner, Senators Barack Obama and John McCain got to poke fun at themselves and each other, and there were some great laughs from both candidates. I watched it on YouTube, and had a ball, when I was sharply and sadly reminded of the John McCain who ran against George W. Bush in 2000. I liked that John McCain, and was very close to switching my party affiliation so that I could vote for him. Unfortunately, his anti-choice stance was a deal-breaker for me, and I had to let the idea go.
When McCain won the first big primary in New Hampshire, the Republican party had their sights on, and their money behind George W. Bush, and after the N.H win, they ran a smear campaign against McCain in the next big primary state, South Carolina. They circulated the story that McCain was mentally unstable because of his imprisonment in Vietnam, and that he had a mixed-race illegitimate daughter with a prostitute (in fact McCain and his wife adopted the girl from Bangladesh).
This smear campaign destroyed McCain’s candidacy. McCain appeared at the next Republican candidates’ debate and related this story, then said Bush should be ashamed. Looking right at Bush he said ‘You should be ashamed!’ Bush said nothing but wore an expression on his face like ‘Hey, it wasn’t me!’
I remember being horrified, but really did not have time to catch my breath, as the Republican Party then went after Democratic Howard Dean, the Democratic party favorite, somehow making him out to be a buffoon. He dropped out quickly, but stayed active within the Democratic Party, becoming it’s Chairman.
Now McCain is back, and I have not recognized the John McCain I almost voted for in 2000. I do not know what has happened to this man, and oddly enough, this was on my mind while I was at the laundromat today, where there were a few old ‘Newsweek’ magazines lying around.
I picked up the February 18, 2008 issue, because the cover was titled “There Will Be Blood – Why the Right Hates McCain.”
The article details all of the horrible things Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, James Dobson, Michael Savage (he of the appropriate name and basically Ann Coulters twin brother in nastiness) and countless others said about McCain. His own party destroyed him in 2000, and started ripping him to shreds when he won the nomination in 2008. It is really nauseating, and I think that maybe I am starting to kind of understand why the man is angry.
Don’t get me wrong, I do not want him in the White House – mainly, because of his choice for Vice President. Sarah Palin freaks me out, and I fear for McCain’s life if they manage to win. She will find a way to kill the man.
But, if we had the John McCain of 2000 who nominated a really good, moderate, steady, experienced Vice President, this election would not be giving me nightmares.
The saddest, most upsetting bit of news that I recently read was thatJohn McCain and his campaign hired the very same people that the Bush Campaign hired eight years ago to work with on smearing the crap out of McCain, to smear the crap out of Obama!!
This is too much, and please try not to cringe at the comparison, but doesn’t that feel like a woman dating a man who raped and tortured her eight years ago?
( I cannot take full credit for that comparison, when Tomas and I read this latest bit of news, we were both so stunned – - I was still sputtering and Tomas said, “Oh my God, and forgive me for saying this, but that is like….like a woman…..)
I shook my head, saying no forgiveness necessary, he just managed to verbalize it faster than I could.
I have been beating up John McCain pretty hard in these last posts, all of the Democratic party has been beating him up, just as the Republican Party has been beating up Obama. It’s just politics as usual.
However, in my defense, I was not paying a whole lot of attention to politics during the Primaries, as Tomas and I were among the first wave of our group to having the crap beaten out of us at the beginning of the economic crash, back when we were in L.A., my hometown.
I did not know that McCain’s own party despised him so, and was being so vocal about it. McCain knew, and he knew that a figure of 69% of conservatives being satisfied with him as the GOP nominee was not enough, especially in the swing states. So, he decided to go the down and dirty route, and to me, now, when Republicans are leaning away from him for his “dirty campaign”, many of them have simply found a handy excuse to not vote for him because they hate him.
I am starting to feel very bad for John McCain, as I now feel that he is suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome not from Vietnam, but from the treatment he has received within his own party affiliation.
Perhaps the way the hard core Right has treated him accounts for the anger, the grimacing, the erratic behavior, and the drive to win at all costs, right down to the desperate choice of Sarah Palin, she who seems to be winning over those extreme hard core Right-wingers who otherwise might have simply not voted.
If John McCain had picked a better choice for V.P., and he had won, I would hope that he was pulling an “Arnold” – go into the fight acting like an extremist, then when you have the seat, go back to being moderate. Punk the hard core group. ( I may not have voted for you, Senator McCain, but if you won, and had done that, I would have cheered for you).
I still would not have voted for McCain, I like Obama. But when Obama wins, I am going to feel so damned bad for McCain, and I write this in all sincerity. All I can say at this point is, I was glad to see him at the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Dinner, smiling and laughing and making good jokes.
It was nice to have you back, John, even for just one night.
I have a friend who owns a small business, and we had an exchange about last nights debates, and the annoying “Joe the Plumber” story that John McCain kept beating to death. My friend, exasperated, wrote me an e-mail that is much better than anything I could write this morning, as my head is spinning from an hour and a half of watching John McCain’s latest antics.
Below is a reprint of my friend’s e-mail:
———————————————————————————-
Joe’s numbers don’t add up. If he is buying an existing business that nets $250,000. a year already, then he’s going to be paying close to a million dollars for that business or else he’s getting the deal of the century and he shouldn’t be complaining.
I don’t think that I know any plumbers or any other people starting a small business who have a million dollars to spare.
If Joe is starting up a business, he is probably not going to see a profit for 2 to 4 years anyway, so Obama would be 1/4 to 1/2 half way through his term before ‘ol Joe would pay a dime extra in taxes anyway. Joe seemed slick enough to know better.
As a small business owner myself, I’m not worried in the least about a higher corporate tax rate. Though the USA does have the second highest corporate tax rate in the world, after all of the deductions and loopholes we are allowed, in reality we are one of the lowest. I believe that we are number 3 or 4 from the bottom in actual corporate taxes paid. There is a gigantic chasm between the corporate tax rate and the actual corporate taxes paid.
My business does not yet generate $250,000 a year gross, much less net, so I really don’t have a problem at all and I have to pay my employees a much higher rate than a plumber. So Joe should man up, pay his taxes like everyone else, be thankful that he lives in a country where anyone can start a business and quit whining that he can’t buy that new watercraft or whatever floats his boat for another year.
I hate paying taxes as much as the next guy, but I believe in good public schools, nice freeways to drive on, safe bridges, and love to go to our beautiful national parks and have people less fortunate than myself be able to go to college or get a doctor for their children. I don’t mind my tax dollars going to fund the V.A. hospital or pay for our police, firemen and teachers. It’s a small price to pay so that I can sleep at night. That all takes money Joe, and even though I don’t have kids, I don’t mind paying for yours to get the best possible education in the world.
Of course the Government is often foolish with our money…and correcting that problem should be a never ending quest and a major priority of any representative. Our tax dollars should be spend wisely, just as we do in our personal and business lives.
God knows that many private businesses and many individuals are at least as careless with their money as the Government. Probably more so.
———————————————————————————-
Thank you to my friend R.
And on a final note – “Joe the Plumber’s” name is Samuel “Joe” Wurzelbacher, and he owes the State of Ohio $1,182.98 in back taxes. Also, Samuel “Joe” the Plumber is not, in fact, a licensed plumber, and does not belong to the Plumbers Union Local 50.
Samuel “Joe” Wurzelbacher is worried that Obama is misrepresenting himself to Americans? I think Samuel “Joe the Plumber” misrepresented himself to the Senator, and to all of the other REAL plumbers out there.
One more question – can you trust a Senator such as McCain, who decides to use “Joe the Plumber” from one of Senator Obama’s campaign events against Senator Obama, yet does not even bother to check out a few facts on ol’ ”Joe”?
It is not that much of a stretch, folks. The inflammatory, vicious attacks on Barack Obama, where people at the McCain/Palin rallies start screaming, “terroists!” and “kill him”.
But it is not just Barack Obama they are putting in danger.
The McCain/Palin camp and their frighteningly character assassinating message could very well tip someone who is on the other side, someone a bit unstable, (let’s face it folks, we have unstable members of both parties) to finally lose it and go after McCain or Palin at one of these rallies. Of course, McCain and Palin are heavily guarded, and would probably be just fine, as would Barack Obama.
But what about the Secret Service Agents assigned to protect both candidates? These men and women are trained to take a bullet for the candidates, and take a bullet they would. So, with the hideous, nasty, racist lies being spewed out by the McCain campaign, if somebody finally snaps, be it towards either of the candidates, guess who is going to take the bullet?
The Secret Service Agent trained to do so.
I am sick to my stomach every time I see Palin walking along, up to her podium to begin screeching out her message of lies and hatred, surrounded by Secret Service Agents. I literally look into the face of these serious, alert, on-guard men and women surrounding her and I start to sweat, worrying that someone might finally want her shut up for good, and one of those guys will be killed because of her words.
Or one of Obama’s men will be killed because Palin finally whips the crowd into such a frenzy that yelling out, “Kill Him” is not enough, they are going to carry out their threat.
John McCain had to try and rein in his own crowd at a town hall meeting, as either he or someone in his camp realized that this mob mentality that they had created was getting too big to handle. John McCain referred to Obama as a “Good American, a Good Family Man” and he was met with loud, repeated boo’s.
You know your core group is out of control when they boo you for saying something nice about your opponent. They have been whipped into a frenzy of fear and hatred, and they want to let it out, have to let it out.
McCain trying to calm them down was almost pitiful to watch, he seemed to diminish right before our eyes.
However, this has not stopped Palin, she is still on the negative, albeit a tiny bit toned down, however, at the private fundraisers, she is still in top form with the inciting speeches.
Sarah Palin is Hitler in a dress and heels.
And the negative ads are still running.
All those Secret Service Agents, trained to protect the candidates.
Bear with me everybody. As I am sure many of you did yesterday, I turned every color of the rainbow when I heard Cindy McCain jumping in with her two cents worth in the McCain smear campaign, saying,” Barack Obama is running the dirtiest campaign in history.”
All over the nation the collective gasp, or if one was eating, food and beverage flying out of their mouths when we heard this nonsense, probably caused a slight shift in the tilt of the earth on it’s axis.
However, after I simmered down, I started to realize how little I knew of Cindy McCain, so decided to do some research. Also filled in some of the blanks on Carol, John McCain’s first wife.
I do not have all of the facts, I have some, and I read many opinions, everything from Cindy is on painkillers and booze again, or went off of them and needs to get back on, to calling her lousy names because she hooked up with John when he was still married to Carol.
After marrying in 1980, Cindy McCain had back surgery in 1989 and became addicted to Vicoden and Percodan, and in order to keep up with an ever increasing habit, filled prescriptions with other peoples names on them, and I believe did a few other unethical things to get pills. People have done this for decades, I am not in the mood to smack Cindy McCain around because of her pill addiction. I read one persons thoughtful musings concerning Cindy McCain, and it has stuck with me.
Cindy McCain acts like an emotionally abused wife. Not once have I seen John McCain kiss her, put his arm around her, frankly, he does not seem to acknowledge her presence at all. It has been said that he verbally abused and humiliated her in public, when she teased him about his thinning hair, snarling that “at least I don’t plaster makeup all over my face like a trollop, you cunt.”
If my husband talked to me that way after only four years of marriage, I would most likely start hitting the booze and when I could legally get painkillers, just might stay on them an awful lot longer than I needed to.
We have all seen the red-faced, angry, angry man that is John McCain. We have all seen rich ice-princess Cindy standing behind him, not saying much. Sometimes, to be perfectly honest, it seems as if she is just standing there, if you can get past the money and the outfits and the jewelry, a little forlorn, a little bit lost, like a prop that McCain has pulled out to stand behind him.
Recently in Buffalo Chip, South Dakota at the Sturgis rally, an annual tribute for Veterans, which is also known for its rather raunchy topless (and occasionally bottomless) beauty pageant, John McCain offered Cindy up to dance with the other women. His exact words were,
“I told her with a little luck, she could be the only woman ever to serve as both the First Lady and Miss Buffalo Chip.”
Cindy stood frozen, smile looking as if it would shatter into a million glass pieces if she moved, much less danced.
So what, you might say? She had McCain sign a pre-nup, she is not an idiot, if that is the case, get out of the marriage!
You would have an a virtually inarguable point.
But what if she really loves the guy? Despite the constant harping that they have 4 kids and have been married 28 years, this does not exactly equate still being madly in love. If he, or they, ever were.
Cindy McCain herself said that she and John have a ‘commuter marriage’, that she stays in Phoenix, he stays in Washington, and twice a year they vacation together. It was noted that Cindy McCain was slow to warm to the idea of running again, but now she is “into it”. Maybe what changed her mind was she might get to spend some time with her husband in the campaign trial.
A twice a year vacation together sounds kind of lonely if you love your spouse, convenient if you do not, and perhaps only married her for her money.
The timeline shows that two years after John married Cindy, he became a Congressman in Arizona. How does one go from a nobody, a guy amongst the thousands of men who fought in Vietnam, and one guy amongst hundreds of P.O.W’s in Vietnam who came back home, to suddenly become a Congressman in two years?
Money.
Most guys who came back from Vietnam were so shattered that they turned to alcohol, became loners, could not sustain relationships, became homeless.
John McCain becomes a Congressman, and perhaps he picked Cindy because she was young, somewhat naive, and rich. She was an opportunity, and he used her. Just as he is using Sarah Palin. Cindy stands in the background, a rather washed out, faded beauty, made more so by the sparkling, twinkling, winking, vibrantly big haired Sarah Palin, who holds John McCains hand as they raise their hands together proclaiming they are “Mavericks”.
Is it possible that in a desperate bid for some positive attention (or attention period), from her husband, this is what prompted Cindy McCain to suddenly jump on the smear wagon and start spewing the same nasty bullshit that John McCain is patting Sarah Palin on the back for doing?
Maybe Cindy would like a pat on the back from her husband, a smile, an acknowledgment that she exists, that she is loved, that she is his wife?
Is it possible that as he falls farther and farther down in the polls, that at the end of the day, who better to take it out on than his wife, the one he called a trollop and a cunt only 4 years after they were married?
I am not saying she is walking around with a black eye, but emotional abuse is just as damaging and more brain-washing than physical abuse, and John McCain, the issues he stands for, his pick of sarah Palin as his running mate, and what he has done in his personal life is rapidly starting to have the big stink of misogyny wafting all around it.
As we all know, most children of wealthy parents are raised by nannies, and Cindy McCain inherited her wealth. Is it possible that she was starved for love long before she met McCain, and he could spot that particular sadness in her and exploit it? After all, her career of choice was teaching special needs children. She did not have to do that, she was rich! Children, especially special needs children, have the ability to love unconditionally.
I am not making excuses for Cindy McCain’s choice to jump on the dirty campaign and knock a big fat home run of a lie – she is just another voice lowering an already nose-in-the-gutter campaign from the McCain camp.
I am just wondering why.
I could be dead wrong, and Cindy McCain could very well be what she appears – the bullet proof, rich, arrogant untouchable half of the sleaziest political couple we have ever had the nauseating experience of having to endure.
But as we all know, so often things are not as they appear, and for Cindy to open her mouth this late in the game seems odd, considering that in an interview with Judy Wodruff on Sept 3rd, 2008, Cindy praised John McCain’s choice of Sarah Palin, simply gushing about how perfect Sarah Palin was, and yet when Cindy is forced to stand in the wings while people are screaming for Sarah, she does not look very happy. And the pictures of her having to prove how happy she is with Sarah Palin when she is hugging Palin, well, to call it “stiff” is beyond understatement.
Yes, there are a few photo’s out there where John and Cindy McCain are smiling, but to me it often looks forced, and there are a few where Cindy is actually hugging John, and he is looking away, and his body is pulling away, as he waves out to the audience with a more genuine facsimile of a smile than I have yet to see him turn towards his wife.
I would love to hear other people weigh in and tell me what they think.
It has finally happened. The McCain Camp has told the truth – they are going to swiftboat their way into the White House, telling vicious lies about Barack Obama, repeating them over and over, no matter who points out that they are lying. They have come out and said it, and lets applaud them for finally saying ONE thing that is absolutely true. Good Kids! Gold Star!
At this point, Palin’s campaign is, to quote the Christian Science Monitor, basically made up of a noun, a verb, and a “Barack pals around with terrorists” jargon. She is not even talking about foreign terrorists, you know, that group that bombed the World Trade Center so perfectly it looked, well, a bit rigged to go off from the inside.
( How did both buildings collapse so perfectly? Well, that question has been asked a million times, and, like John McCain’s POW records, I believe the truth is buried so deep that frankly, we have a better chance of finding Jimmy Hoffa).
No, our peppy little cheerleader is chanting about ex-weatherman Bill Ayers, even though many reliable news sources have proven that Obama is on a passing first name basis with the man, at the very most. But Sarah Palin, our little DodgeBall mom keeps pounding it and pounding it, and is so busy polarizing people by repeating her mantra:
If you love your country, you will vote for us, if you hate your country and are UnAmerican and want to pal around with terrorists, then I guess you want Obama.
Once again, according to the Christian Science Monitor, the McCain Camp has a strategy that is telling Sarah to keep shoveling her lying bullshit, while McCain trots around “connecting” with people.
That one is the funniest one of all. McCain “connecting” with the American People? The guy that does not know how to use a computer, has more than five houses and more than ten cars, and is so out of touch with the American People that he might as well stay at home with a Ouiji Board and try to “connect with” his deceased ancestors. He would probably have better luck.
And of course, when Obama counters the lies with the facts, McCain gets his smug little smile going (hanging around George W. Bush too much and you can wind up with a permanent smirk, be careful), and says that Obama is simply repeating lies. With the facts right there.
Talk about projection! Lets lie our asses off about Obama, then accuse HIM of being the liar.
And would you please tell me if I have my math correct? John McCain, in defending Sarah Palin, said that she had “More experience than Senator Barack Obama and Senator Joe Biden combined”.
Now, Biden has been in the political realm for roughly 35 years, Obama has been serving for around 12 years. Sarah Palin is 44 years old. So….she has been working in the governmental arena before she was born? Did she somehow, in utero, absorb the nightly news in 1963? My head is spinning.
American People, are you really going to fall for it this time? Really? Because if you do, and you vote for McCain/Palin, say goodbye to your job, your house, your life. They are simply going to step in and rape what little is left of this country, and we are all going to go down in flames.
Please use your heads on Nov. 4th, dig up as many facts, FACTS, as you can, not spin, not lies, just facts, and do the right thing. Let’s show the world were are not total idiots, and regain some dignity after 8 years of world humiliation.
It will be so nice to be able to travel to other countries again, and when people ask where you are from, you do not have to mumble “ummm, Canada”.
Once again, I absolutely MUST leave some of the observations and articles to those much more learned than I.

Raising the white flag of surrender — to Medicare
Freedom in danger
Unbelievable. Sarah Palin finished her closing remarks by quoting Ronald Reagan:
It was Ronald Reagan who said that freedom is always just one generation away from extinction. We don’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream; we have to fight for it and protect it, and then hand it to them so that they shall do the same, or we’re going to find ourselves spending our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children about a time in America, back in the day, when men and women were free.
When did he say this? It was on a recording he made for Operation Coffeecup — a campaign organized by the American Medical Association to block the passage of Medicare.
